DID YOU KNOW?
“The Garden” at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church is to be a resting place for members, their families and for those who have found the ministry of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church meaningful. It is a special place honoring the lives of those who have departed from our midst. It is to be maintained in quiet, dignified beauty - a place of peace and serenity.
The purpose of “The Garden” is to provide space for the burial or the scattering of the ashes of cremation and a place where persons may pause in reverent meditation. The Christian community views cremation as an acceleration of a natural process which neither contradicts nor interferes with our Biblical belief in the resurrection to eternal life.
“The Garden” may be used in two ways: interment of ashes directly into the ground or the scattering of ashes on open ground. Inscribed plates bearing the names of persons interred in “The Garden” are placed on the “Tree of Remembrance” in the Fellowship Hall. Arrangements for use of “The Garden” are made through the church office or with a pastor prior to the date of interment. Families are encouraged to plan in advance by placing at the church a prepared statement for funeral plans which may include arrangements for use of “The Garden.”
